Public Works Director Levi Beaty and Deputy Manager Heath Dobrovolny announced a two-week closure of Cree Meadows Drive as NRCS crews begin drainage improvements. A planned water outage is also scheduled early Tuesday morning on the south side of Sudderth for fire hydrant maintenance.
Fire Chief Cade Hall reviewed the current Level 2 fire restrictions.
Emergency Manager Eric Queller discussed the recent regional flood exercise, “Rising Phoenix,” and ongoing efforts to expand the village’s siren alert system beyond fire emergencies. High-risk structures in flood-prone areas were also addressed.
Eddie Ryan, Manager, Events & Strategic Partnerships, highlighted the July 11–12 Ironman event and potential scheduling shifts to August to better align with the monsoon season. Filmmaker Daniel Cummings shared updates on the regional film industry and upcoming festivals in Las Cruces and Ruidoso.
Assistant Parks & Recreation Director Mark Coker reported a busy sports weekend and noted that setup for the Wibit Water Park at Grindstone Lake is expected to begin around April 27.
