Mayor Lynn Crawford, Village Manager Ron Sena & Deputy Village Manager Heath Dobrovolny: Discussed the Surplus Auction scheduled for next week at Schoolhouse Park, where retired Village vehicles, conference tables, chairs, and other surplus equipment will be available. Mayor Crawford and Dobrovolny also addressed a listener question about trees marked for removal in Paradise Canyon. Dobrovolny provided an update on the county’s buyout program, reporting that four offers have been made and one accepted so far, with the county working toward making at least five offers each week.
Public Works Director Levi Beaty: Reported that paving at the 603 Mechem housing project was completed last week and that gutter installation on the homes is expected to begin this week.
Fire Chief Cade Hall: Announced that the Fire Department has taken delivery of two new fire trucks, including a new ladder truck that will be housed at Station 2. He also provided an update on the wildfire south of Hondo, reporting that it had grown to approximately 400 acres.
Emergency Manager Eric Queller: Reviewed the week’s weather forecast, noting that monsoon moisture remains in the area. Rain is expected Tuesday through Friday, with an increased risk of flooding possible throughout the week.
Leroy Smith, Community Foundation of Lincoln County: Discussed the Community Foundation’s grant application process and upcoming application deadline.
Sandra Ashcraft, Humane Society of Lincoln County: Previewed the Humane Society’s Pet Expo, scheduled for Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Humane Society.
Economic Development Director Lara Price: Discussed the upcoming Housing Steering Committee meeting, which will focus on identifying funding opportunities, attracting investors, and exploring potential locations for future housing developments within the Village.
Manager of Events & Strategic Partnerships Eddie Ryan: Previewed several upcoming events, including Oktoberfest, Aspenfest, XTERRA World Championship, and the New Mexico Outdoor Conference.
Parks & Recreation Director Matthew Baird: Highlighted recent improvements at the Dog Park and encouraged community participation in this weekend’s Ruidoso Marathon.
Wingfield Heritage House Curator Stephanie Long: Recapped the successful Family Fun Day held over the weekend, recognizing the many volunteers who helped make the event possible. She also previewed next month’s selection for the Time Turner Book Club.
Deputy Police Chief Jason Janopolous & Lt. Daniel Hildman: Provided an update on the Village’s Speed Enforcement Camera Program, including that the camera on Hull Road will begin issuing citations next week. Newly promoted Lt. Hildman also discussed feedback from Police Department staff regarding the speed cameras and their role in the community.
Mayor Lynn Crawford & Officer Noah Janssoon: Concluded the program with Mayor Crawford swearing in Noah Janssoon as the Ruidoso Police Department’s newest officer live on the air.
