Fire Chief Cade Hall discussed the upgrades to the carports at Fire Station 1, which has gone out for bid. He also answered a listener’s question about the fire truck recently seen on video taking on flood water on Mechem Drive.

Adam Sanchez, Public Works Director, provided an update on last week’s flooding around the Village, noting the minimal damage to the McDaniel bridge repairs in the Upper Canyon.

Levi Beaty, Project Manager, reported on the 603 Mechem housing project, sharing that elk rubbing against new fence posts caused some setbacks.

Michael Martinez, Deputy Village Manager, spoke about recent meetings with the Forest Service regarding flood mitigation on the burn scars.

Randy Koehn, Water Production Manager; Constance Tucker, Water Resource Director; and Isabel Martinez, Water Resource Specialist, discussed the upcoming public notice about possible lead pipes and fittings in some Village lines and homes. Koehn also described ongoing monitoring for lead and other contaminants in the water system.

Johnny Montoya from Windstream/Kinetic highlighted this week’s ribbon-cutting ceremony, celebrating the completion of the Village fiber project.

Eddie Ryan, Manager of Events & Strategic Partnerships, and Daniel Cummings, Director/Production Manager, talked about the new Hallmark movie being filmed locally. Cummings also explained how the film industry boosts local economies.

Police Chief Steve Minner introduced the department’s newest sworn officer, Michael Mackewich.
